I embarked on a new adventure just last Monday, one that transformed me into a mother and a wife. It’s quite a remarkable shift considering I had spent nearly two decades as a working mother. Looking back, I can’t help but feel a pang of regret for the days I might have squandered when I didn’t put my family at the forefront of my priorities.

I understand this journey won’t be a walk in the park, but I’m optimistic that it will get better with time. Since last Monday, the kids have been out and about, whether at school or work. This newfound solitude grants me the time to attend to various household chores - washing dishes, tidying up the house, doing the laundry, preparing dinner, and more. In the midst of all this, I realized I’ve been neglecting my own well-being. Breakfasts and lunches have been skipped due to the relentless schedule.

But today, I made a conscious decision to rectify that. It’s crucial to care for myself as well. While I’m committed to fulfilling my roles as a mother and a wife, I’ve come to understand the importance of enjoying good health and savoring life’s pleasures.

So, on this day, I treated myself to a proper, healthy breakfast. Fresh fruits, a comforting cup of milk tea, and a slice of gluten-free caramel cake adorned my plate. Each bite was a delightful reminder that taking care of oneself can be a sweet indulgence too.

What a pleasure it is, once in a while, to bask in solitude and revel in some “ME TIME.” It’s a luxury that’s eluded me for ages, but now it’s time to savor it.

As I look ahead, I’m filled with excitement about the days to come. What new adventures will I encounter? What will keep me busy? I’m sure there will be both kitchen escapades and outdoor exploits to dive into.

So, to all of you who have been a part of my journey and those who will join me in my future adventures, just sit back, relax, and hold on tight!
